Modular Design

As modular designers, we ensure key players are involved from project initiation to ensure all aspects of manufacturing, transportation and site placement are considered in your custom design. SBSG has a detailed understanding of the modular building process which allows us to include design details not captured in conventional construction. Using our team of in-house Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical engineers and designers, we work live in BIM360 to ensure each module “functions smoothly” within the building. SBSG promotes the advantages of modular off-site construction, and we continue to develop unique modular building solutions to reduce project costs and increase project delivery.

SBSG is an active member of both the Canadian and International sectors of the Modular Building Institute (MBI), where we provide key insights and recommendations for a community of architects, developers, and general contractors

SBSG has assisted over thirty (30) modular companies to obtain their Canadian Standards Association (CSA)/Intertek/CWB certifications. Our team has developed a strong working relationship with modular certification bodies, including the CSA and Intertek. Our knowledge and expertise of the modular industry has led to us to be engaged by these certifying agencies to complete numerous plant and product reviews on their behalf.

SBSG provides full design and engineering services for a variety of modular building projects, including new construction, renovations/additions and re-location of existing modular facilities. Our projects have included multi-storey housing facilities, office buildings, mine camps, restaurants, libraries, schools, detention facilities, healthcare centers, and more.
